THE Javier Bardem looks forward to “returning to the desert” to turn it Dune 2or “Dune: Part Two,” as he told his audience Cannes Film Festivalduring Q&A.
The Spanish actor talked about the sequel to the movie “Dune”, by Denny Villeneuve, about which not much is known yet.
«I read the new draft and I think they have done an amazing job composing the pieces in a way that will surprise the world“, Said Javier Bardem according to Deadline.
He further added that fans would not be surprised if they read the book, “but will be surprised by the way the composition is done». «I was very moved by this. It’s a movie that is complete, and you can feel its weight, and at the same time … its spectacleHe added.
Bardem said he would be happy to return to the desert, the setting of the film, with Villeneuve, whom he described as “one of the greatest directors of all time”.
THE filmstarring Timothy Salameh, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaacs and Zendaya, was shot in the Liva Desert in Abu Dhabi in the summer of 2019. The vast landscape was used as a backdrop for planet Arrakis – a dangerous place known for the extraction of the valuable melange substance which allows interplanetary movement.
At the moment it has not been clarified whether the shooting of the sequel will take place in United Arab Emirates.
Bardem plays Naib Stilgar, the ruler of Arrakis, in the film.
