Evia Film Project: A five-day cinema festival in North Evia

The Evia Film Projecthis new initiative Thessaloniki Film Festival, is preparing for his summer date with the public. Screenings, development of new film projects, green activities, open discussions, masterclasses, workshops for children and students, as well as a big concert, await the audience at a five-day cinema festival in North Evia.

The Evia Film Project events will take place with free entrance for the public from 15 to 19 June in Edipsos, Lake and Agia Anna.

The Evia Film Project is a third pole of action of the Thessaloniki Film Festival after the Thessaloniki International Film Festival in November and the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in March. It is one of the projects “Illuminators”which are part of its special program Ministry of Culture and Sports for the reconstruction and restoration of Northern Evia.

START MOVIE

The Evia Film Project opens with Colin Sero’s film, The Green Planet on Wednesday, June 15 at the Apollon Summer Cinema in Edipsos, which after decades of closure, will be remodeled by the Festival and reopen to the public. .

END FILM

The closing film of the Evia Film Project is the new documentary by the Oscar and Golden Palm German director, Volker Schlendorf The Forester. The film will be screened on Sunday, June 19, at the Apollo Cinema.

VIEWS

Twelve films by favorite directors from Greece and abroad will be screened in the summer cinemas of Edipsos and Limni, while an unexpected screening with wonderful short films will take place in Agia Anna Square. Among the creators who will be in Northern Evia are George Tsemperopoulos and Sakis Maniatis, who will present their documentary, Megara.

New film designs and films in progress from all over the world are presented at the Evia Film Project Market, with the participation of leading professionals and favorite creators from Greece and abroad. The Evia Film Project aspires to be a cinematic pole of attraction for green cinema, creating a new platform for connecting audiovisual professionals worldwide.

AMBASSADOR KOSTIS MARAVEGIAS

Singer and songwriter Kostis Maravegias, ambassador of the Evia Film Project, will give a big concert on the beach of Agia Anna on Saturday, June 18 with free admission for the public. His favorite friends Katerina Papoutsaki, George Papageorgiou, Xenia Dania and Eleni Arapoglou will be with him.

OPEN DISCUSSIONS, MASTERCLASSES

The public will have the opportunity to attend an open discussion on sustainable film production, a WWF Hellas workshop on forest fires, masterclasses on the role of journalistic research in environmental films, in collaboration with iMEdD, by journalists George Avgeropoulos and Katerina Christofilidou. Also, the director of photography George Frentzos will deliver a masterclass for technology in cinema, while in Northern Evia will be the internationally renowned photographer Gidion Mendel, who will present his personal project Burning World.

ACTIONS FOR CHILDREN

The Evia Film Project also includes a rich program for parents and children. We will enjoy movies that explore the relationship between man and nature, participate in exciting film workshops for children and play an environmental board game. All actions are free.
