After meeting her grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor has now been introduced to the rest of the world. This Monday (6), her parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, released the first image with details of the girl’s physiognomy.
The photo was taken by Misan Harriman, a friend of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, last Saturday (4), the day she turned 1. Harriman also photographed Meghan during her first pregnancy, as well as her wedding to Harry.
Lilibet’s birthday came amid her grandmother’s Platinum Jubilee, who turned 70 on the British throne. He was celebrated with a picnic in the backyard of Frogmore Cottage, the couple’s home on the outskirts of Windsor Palace.
A spokesperson for the couple told Britain’s Guardian newspaper that Harry and Meghan were “incredibly touched by the countless birthday wishes for their daughter”. They also thanked the donations that were made in her name to the World Central Kitchen, an organization that provides meals in response to humanitarian crises and doing well in Ukraine.
The family has since returned to California, where they are living. They were in the UK only for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.
