Singer and presenter Priscilla Alcântara, 26, who has already had a gospel career and always reinforces her Christian faith, countered the homophobic speech of gospel singer Bruna Karla, 32, who stated –among other lines– that homosexual relationships are a “path to eternal death”.
“In the society we live in, people in the community die for who they are. There’s no way you can worship God — I’ll speak metaphorically — and kill someone, either with my word or in some literal way. That doesn’t exist. , does not reflect the God I believe in,” the singer said on PocCast.
The former presenter of Bom Dia e Cia (SBT) and winner of the first edition of The Masked Singer Brasil (Globo) also said that before issuing an opinion, it is necessary to be aware of how this may reflect on the other.
“The point is not to give your opinion, the point is how it impacts my neighbor, am I going to give him life with what I’m saying or death? Will my words kill you or bring you life? dehumanize you? Leave people alone, take care of your life,” he added.
Bruna Karla told in an interview with the podcast Positivaly, presented by Karina Bacchi, that she refused to sing at the wedding of a homosexual friend for not being in favor of relationships in the LGBTQIA+ community.
“When you marry a beautiful woman and full of God’s power, I will. The day I accept to sing at your wedding with another man, I can stop singing about reading the Bible and about Jesus”, reported the singer.
