There are ways to even train your lungs and regain your deep breathing
Breathing is the basic function, that keeps you alive. Without it the body collapses in fractions of a second.
But at the same time, breathing helps in other situations. It is necessary for example, in yoga, or it helps you to relax and eliminate stress. In many cases, it is the key to fighting a panic attack.
There are exercises you can do that will help strengthen your diaphragm and lungs. Even the right posture, your so-called posture, will help you to take deep breaths without any effort.
The exercises
The right attitude
The body is designed to be straight. But this easily spoils. Either because you are sitting wrong or because you are crouching or because of weight, the body is taking the wrong position.
So the key is to bring back or practice as often as you can in the posture. This initially means that you have to sit with your back straight and try to stretch it and hold it in this position, without squatting.
At the same time, you project the chest outwards, hold the shoulders back and somehow “open” the sternum.
The more the sternum stretches, the more space you create in the chest and the more the lungs “swell”. So it’s a good start and it will help you take deep breaths, because you will not be so stressed.
The attitude of the cobra
In yoga, the cobra posture is a basic exercise, but it also has variations.
In its original version, you are basically lying face down on the floor and lifting your torso up, while your legs are stuck down. You try as much as possible to stretch your torso backwards, like a bow.
Initially, you have your arms as supports, while when you get acquainted with the exercise, you can have them stuck to your torso and parallel to your legs.
And in this case, the exercise will help you stretch your chest and again create space for the lungs. This space is necessary so that the lungs swell more and more each time.
The inverted version of the cobra
If it does not suit you to be snout or it is difficult for you, you can do this exercise upside down.
You lie on your back, with your knees bent and your feet resting well on the ground. You put a roll of foam, or a large towel wrapped in a roll, under your shoulders and bend backwards. So again, your chest is stretched and your ribs are dilated.
Breathing exercises
There are several breathing exercises that will help you get back on track.
These are the diaphragm exercises, which you learn to breathe from the pectoral septum, which is the main pectoral muscle. The exercise is done with inhalation and exhalation, which starts and ends from your diaphragm.
It is also the exercise with tight lips. It is a breathing exercise, in which you breathe through the nose and exhale through the mouth, but it is closed, the lips are stuck. Exhale slowly, as if trying to whistle.
This way you control your breathing and exercise your lungs.
