by

Jason Alexander, 40, the ex-husband of Britney Spears, 40, is on trial for stalking after he broke into the singer’s wedding to Sam Asghari, 28, at their home in Thousand Oaks, Calif., on June 6. He is due to return to court on July 12.

Ventura County Judge David Worley ruled that there is enough evidence against Alexander to send him to trial for stalking and misdemeanor trespassing, vandalism and battery, according to the Associated Press. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

During the preliminary hearing, Spears’ security guard, Richard Eubeler, testified that Alexander managed to get to the second floor of Spears’ house and attempted to enter her locked room. The security guard, who was fired, said he drew his gun after Alexander took something from his pocket.

Alexander even did a live on his profile on Instagram to show the location of the ceremony and the decorations that were still being assembled by the organizers of the party. According to People, he could be heard shouting her name and telling security that he had been invited to the wedding.

After the episode, Spears and her husband obtained an emergency restraining order against Alexander. According to the website EW, on the day of the break-in at the singer’s home, he was arrested on an outstanding warrant for violating a restraining order against another woman.

Spears was married to Alexander, a childhood friend, for 55 hours in January 2004, after the couple tied the knot at Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.
