Actress Claire Foy had to go to court to seek protection from a man who had been watching and harassing her for two months.
The actress Claire Foyknown for its role as Queen Elizabeth in a row The Crown of Netflix, allegedly became the target of a man who watched and harassed her for two months, in November and December last year.
Defendant Jason Penrose appeared outside Foy’s home and sent her over 1,000 emails in one monthaccording to the court.
The SPO hearing was adjourned after Penrose arrived in court unrepresented.
Penrose, who was accompanied to the Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court by NHS staff, gave the Highgate Mental Health Center his direction.
Rosa Benathan, for her part Metropolitan Policetold the court that Penrose had sent Foy an email in which he pretended to be the director and producer and asked her to star in his next film.
In addition, he contacted the actress’s sister, Emma Jackson, while he also went to the star’s house and kept ringing the bell.
The Metropolitan Police has applied for full protection from persecution, which prevents stalkers to contact or approach the alleged victims.
Violation of the order could lead to criminal prosecution.
The judge told Penrose that he was concerned about his behavior if he left the Center and asked him not to try to contact Foy again.
Penrose replied: “I will not do it, I promise you.”
The hearing was rescheduled for July 22.
