Milton Neves loses R$ 17 million after an employee coup: ‘He stole me slowly’

by

Presenter of the program Terceiro Tempo, every Sunday on Band, Milton Neves, 70, lost R$ 17 million from his bank accounts. He was the victim of a scam by a former employee and discovered last year. At first, the hole had been estimated at R$ 2.5 million, but the value was “monetized” and almost reached R$ 20 million: “He stole from me for 18 years”, Milton said.

The presenter revealed that the boy was his right-hand man and a fellow countryman from the city of Muzambinho, in the south of Minas Gerais. “I was the best man in his class and he was the son of a colleague. I was unemployed and his mother looked for a cousin to ask me for a job. We got a job. I got a vampire to take care of my blood bank, so he stole it slowly. “, he revealed to the program Melhor da Tarde, presented by Cátia Fonseca also on Band.

Milton assumed that he received a lot of money from the former broadcaster, Record, and now from Band, but that he did not pay much attention to the employee’s accountability. “I simply signed the notes. Often, on the 5th or 20th, it was R$300 thousand to pay a tax or a bill. commented Milton who never suspected that the notes could be cold.

But these vouchers ended up becoming evidence of the former employee’s crimes. “There are more crimes related to credit cards. Anyway. It was hell in my life. It was a lot of money that I was not even doing the math. I believed the guy, but he was already convicted at the 78th Police Station of São Paulo [Jardins] and in the Public Ministry, because the investigations pointed to him as the author of the crimes. The case is now in court,” concluded Milton Neves.
