In USA Independence Day (Independence Day) today’s Google Doodle is dedicated.

At July 4, 1776representatives of the 13 colonies formally adopted the Declaration of Independence and ended British rule.

They are many and varied the activities of the Americans on this historic day. They throw fireworks, watch baseball games and wave red, white and blue flags

But nothing more characteristic than tthe barbecue in the backyardlike what Google depicts in its Doodle.

American barbecues date back to the early 19th century, when Southerners commemorated the anniversary of independence with public feasts and meals. Since they allowed a large amount of food to be cooked at once, barbecues became a staple for outdoor gatherings where local farmers and community members offered meat for everyone to eat. When many southern African Americans immigrated to the north in the 20th century, they brought favorite barbecue recipes with them. Soon, barbecue restaurants spread across American cities, with each area having its own distinct style.

Today, millions of Americans gather with loved ones around barbecue grills to celebrate the Fourth of July.
