When you make it difficult and sabotage yourself. Read what the signs are and how you can find the solution
Really, how many times have you said you’re going to do things you really want to and then you don’t? You put them aside and just wonder what happened and you didn’t do them. And you often come to the wrong conclusions. You say it’s a matter of laziness, fatigue or lack of time.
And really, that might be true, but you might just be sabotaging yourself.
What is self-sabotage?
Initially this behavior is both negative and toxic. It holds you back and doesn’t let you be happy. It erases your dreams and your goals. It doesn’t let you move forward and evolve.
Self-sabotage is a limitation, which takes the form of fear, insecurity, lack of self-confidence. It makes you feel weak and unworthy.
But it can appear as a form of perfectionism. That is, to be under constant pressure to achieve the perfect, the impossible. And every time you fail, feel more and more incapable, more and more of a failure.
Signs
Sometimes self-sabotage is so obvious that you realize it yourself.
On the other hand, you might do it and not realize it. In other words, to create obstacles for yourself, without even realizing that you are doing it.
For example, staying in a job because you are afraid to leave or because you feel that you don’t deserve to find something better. Or back off and not claim.
You may still stay in a relationship, in which you are not happy, but still continue. Be afraid to be alone or feel that you deserve it.
Generally it is a state of constant underestimation and neglect of yourself and your needs.
The solution
So the point is to realize that you are causing this to yourself. To understand that what counts is to see yourself with different eyes. And stop beating yourself up.
So listen to your wants and needs and prioritize them. For once in your life put yourself first with boldness and courage.
If necessary, take classes or therapy, which will help you raise your self-confidence and strengthen your self-esteem.
Also, do a deep review of your life up to this point. Reminisce about your victories and try to bring back that feeling often. But look at your losses too. What was it that stopped you and bugged you?
Take a few days off and take a vacation by yourself. It will help you to think clearly, away from the demands and ambitions of others for you. You owe it to yourself to redefine and focus on what you want. So take your time and gather energy. You will need her.
Finally, reject and banish what is holding you back. It may cost you, but in the end you will be redeemed and set free.
But above all give yourself value. Recognize your abilities, dream and don’t be a coward.
You only live once.
