A video by singer Jorge Vercillo, 53, refuting Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution and saying that humans are extraterrestrials returned to social media, generating comments and jokes among netizens, this Tuesday (5).

“We are extraterrestrials, homo sapiens is not from Earth”, said Jorge Vercillo, two months ago, in an interview with the Papagaio Falante podcast, on YouTube – this is not the first time he talks about ufology theories in interviews.

The singer explained to presenters Sérgio Malandro and Renato Rabelo that animals do not need technology to live and cited examples, such as the bird, which, according to him, only needs the nest and dive to fish to survive. “What other species needs some kind of technology?” asked the singer.

For Vercillo, humans may even have descended from apes, from apes, as Darwin said–which he considers a genius. “But if he were alive I would definitely remake a lot of his theories because homo sapiens hasn’t found the link,” he said. To justify his theory, the singer added: “We pave everything, we don’t have a natural bond with the nature of this planet.”

This is not the first time the artist has spoken about extraterrestrials. In an interview with Programa do Porchat (Record), in 2017, he said he had some experiences of contact with aliens and that he saw flying lights that he believed to be UFOs. Vercillo even defended the ufology theory that human beings were not born on Earth.

“To see an ET, you look in the mirror. I’m sure that the human being, Homo sapiens, did not originate from Earth. There is no link between Homo erectus and Sapiens”, he said, at the time explaining one of the theories. of ufology.

On social media, netizens shared the cut of the video commenting and making jokes. “It seemed more plausible to me than intelligent design (which has schools adopting it as essential content in the menus of history, science and, God forbid, Geography)”, commented an internet user.

A Twitter user shared the video and joked: “Jorge Vercilo would be interested in buying a lot in Ratanabá [teoria de uma cidade perdida na Amazonia]?”. While one netizen commented: “I want a glimpse of what he used.”

Other netizens used excerpts from a song by the singer to comment. “It wasn’t just homesickness that hit him like a tide now,” he wrote. One user wrote: “Throwing me in your web, glad to call me spiderman your hero.”

wanted by F5 to comment on the theory of ufology, the artist did not answer the calls or respond to the e-mail.
