She adds that she resents seeing certain physique standards with impossibly thin people predominantly shown on television, and hopes that an alternative perspective and positive bias on what the “real body” looks like could encourage Hollywood to reshape standards.

David Harbor says he won’t go through the process of losing weight again for any role.

The 47-year-old actor, best known for his starring role as Sheriff Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, 47, went through the process of losing nearly 100 pounds for the role in Season 4 but claims it was probably the last time will subject himself to such a thing.

In fact, he declares that he is glad to have it all back, in order to play Santa Claus in a movie, next December.

He adds that he resents seeing certain physique standards of impossibly skinny people predominantly shown on television, and hopes that an alternative perspective and positive bias on what his “real body” looks like could encourage Hollywood to reshape standards.

“I want people to love their bodies. I don’t want you to be unhealthy. I want you to take care of yourself, take care of your heart. We don’t want you to be fat. But these skinny standards that Hollywood puts out — I don’t find those people sexy anymore,” she says.

Harbor argues beauty standards that emphasize the body’s frailty are “hard on the culture” and that he “doesn’t want that cruelty on our bodies anymore.”

“I want more big girls in lead roles,” she added. I want fleshy boys in lead roles. I want them to be the protagonists.”
