Presenter Ana Maria Braga, 73, opened the program Mais Você (Globo), on the morning of this Tuesday (12), commenting on the case of Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, an anesthesiologist, arrested in the act for the rape of a drugged patient who was undergoing a cesarean section at the Hospital da Mulher Heloneida Studart, in Rio de Janeiro.
“I can’t help but express my indignation with this case. I didn’t understand it right, such was the absurdity. Rape inside the operating room during childbirth?”, began Ana Maria. She explained that the investigation against the anesthesiologist will take place this Tuesday and will hear other witnesses in the case, as delegate Bárbara Lomba explained on the program Encontro.
“This investigation will point out if Giovanni Bezerra committed other rapes. There are some human specimens that didn’t work, an animal wouldn’t do that. Cases like these make us thank this technology that allows truths, often lurid, to come to the public” , he added.
Ana Maria also said that she does not consider Bezerra as a doctor and reflected on the “absurdities that have already been committed against human beings that we do not know. Whether women or men… Women are more vulnerable in this area”.
“It’s appalling. We’re going to follow the course of this absurdity to see if the Justice has powers. There’s no way this unfortunate person won’t be seriously punished”, added the presenter. In the sequence, Ana Maria still protested against the price of milk.
The presenter showed, live from a market in São Paulo, that a liter of whole milk is costing more than R$7. In addition, she also decorated her studio with a milk bottle painted in gold. “It’s worth gold,” she said.
