Her ex had her recruiting women for “threesomes” and later she talked to one of the women
Mina Suvari says she was manipulated into having sex when she was involved in a previous toxic relationship, according to People. The 43-year-old “American Beauty” actress opened up about surviving sexual abuse and drug addiction in her new book.
Now the actress, who has a baby boy with husband Michael Hope, reflects on how an abusive relationship warped her view of sex and how she realized she was unloved, she wrote in the book.
Mina Suvari recently told the Guardian newspaper that her ex had her recruiting women for ‘threesomes’ and later spoke to one of the women in question:I told her: “I want you to know that I never wanted to do any of these things.” She was surprised. It opened my eyes, how I was being manipulated and I had no idea. Circumstances had been created for me and this whole story had swallowed me up“, revealed the actress.
And he continued:I wasn’t given the choice or the permission to do that and that was so devastating to me.” he said of the “trio”. “It’s a very confusing thing when you experience sexual abuse because part of it is … like satisfaction. But the other part is an absolute nightmare, so you’re confused, you don’t know what’s right».
The actress admitted that she finds solace in acting. Today, Suvari helps young people in California and shares her story “in the hope that the light will always shine and inspire,” she says.
“This is what I learned about myself. And for the first time, I give myself permission and find the voice I wish I had“, she adds.
