Galvão Bueno, 72, underwent spinal surgery this Friday afternoon (29), at Hospital Albert Einstein, in São Paulo. The narrator had a small fissure in the L5 of the spine and, after examinations, the medical team then chose to perform the procedure. Galvão is already in his room and should be discharged in the next few days.

Globo’s main narrator, who has already announced his departure from the station at the end of the Qatar World Cup in November, had been complaining of back pain in recent days. Recently, he even came to present the program “Bem, Amigos!”, which airs every Monday, on Sportv, seated.

Galvão had been hospitalized on Thursday night (28) for routine exams to be fit for the world championship and, according to the narrator’s team, the spinal injury was old and originated from the time he played basketball as a young man. .

After analyzing one of the routine exams, Galvão and the doctors opted for a procedure to correct a small pre-existing cleft ( from the time he played basketball) at L5 and which was causing pain. The procedure has already been performed, Galvão is doing well, he is recovering in his room and will be discharged in the next few days”, says the statement sent to F5 by Galvão’s team.
