Kevin Spacey was ordered to pay 31 million dollars to the producers of the series “House of Cards” of Netflix, after being fired from the series following sexual assault allegations in the UK dating back 17 years.

On Thursday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mel Red Recana ordered the 63-year-old actor to pay $29.5 million in damages and an additional $1.5 million in attorney’s fees and costs, according to People.

The company severed ties with Spacey in 2017 following allegations against the actor. In fact, the company launched an investigation after allegations emerged that Spacey had sexually assaulted and exploited young men, including a production assistant on the show.

Spacey was then ordered to pay the studio in 2020 for breach of contract after violating company policy. At the time, MRC claimed Spacey cost them millions of dollars in lost profits after his misconduct forced them to fire him from the series and cut the sixth season of “House of Cards” by five episodes.

The arbitration award was quietly won by MCR in 2020 and came to light in November 2021 when MRC filed an application in civil court to confirm the award.
