The PICNIC Urban Festival, one of the most beloved institutions in the cultural life of Thessaloniki, travels to Epirus at the invitation of the Dodoni Festival and for two unique days it changes into the PICNIC Urban Festival Dodoni with the Ancient Stadium filled with music, films and …magic!
In this great celebration, all visitors will participate in the creation of a large Picnic, which will be accompanied by concerts by emerging artists and musical groups of the region, as well as screenings in the specially designed outdoor summer cinema, which will be hosted by the Ancient Stadium area .
It is an original artistic activity organized by Parenthesis for ten years in Greece, combining the art of cinema with that of music, and encourages the public’s contact with artistic creation.
Identified with the Roman Agora of Thessaloniki, where it is traditionally carried out, this time the action invites the participants to the Ancient Stadium of Dodoni to experience in an innovative and alternative way one of the most important archaeological sites of Greece, having a picnic, while, at the same time, they are given the opportunity to listen to the freshest that the Greek music scene has to offer and to live the experience of watching movies, under the starry sky of the outdoor summer cinema.
Those who find themselves at the Archaeological Site of Dodoni on August 7 and 8, in addition to the unique atmosphere always created by the loyal “picnicers”, will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique artistic program that will start with the freshest music and continue with short films from favorite Festivals and two of the most important film productions of the last year.
