The owner of the Los Angeles home, destroyed in the car accident involving Anne Heche, 53, was lucky to survive but “lost her entire life of possessions”, according to neighbors. On Friday (5), the actress crashed her car into a condominium garage and, when trying to leave the place, ended up causing a new collision and a fire in the area.

In an interview with People magazine, Lynne Bernstein, a neighbor of Lynne Mishele (owner of the property), said that she was “in shock” before she even noticed the crashed car. “I don’t think she understood what was going on. She said, ‘What happened? What happened?'” Bernstein said.

Due to the property damage Mishele suffered, the neighbors set up an online fundraiser to help. “Lynne and her family narrowly escaped physical damage. The house, however, was burned to the ground,” said the crowdfunding organizer.

“Even more distressing is that Lynne has lost her entire life of possessions, souvenirs, all of her business equipment including her laptop and iPad, all of her clothes and basic necessities, and all of her household items.”

With the help of firefighters, the owner of the property managed to remove some sentimental belongings from the wreckage, such as photos. The fundraising goal is US$ 100,000, equivalent to R$ 513,000, and the group has already raised just over US$ 53,000 – approximately R$ 272,000.

On the day of the accident, firefighters confirmed that the car “caused structural damage and exploded in heavy fire” in the house, so it is no longer fit for habitation. In another statement, the department stated that “59 firefighters took 65 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the stubborn flames within the heavily damaged structure.”

According to TMZ, before the most serious crash, the actress had already crashed into the wall of a garage in the condominium. She would have been scared by the beginning of agglomeration and, when trying to leave the place, ended up causing a new collision, followed by the fire.

Heche, who has a long career as an actress, is best known for the romantic comedy “Six Days, Seven Nights” (1998) and the disaster movie “Volcano: The Fury” (1997), as well as a long relationship with the presenter. Ellen DeGeneres, 64. She had several projects in the works.

Heche is hospitalized in serious condition, in stable condition. “Her family asks for your prayers and positive thoughts. We also ask that you respect her privacy at this difficult time. Thank you,” said a statement released by the press office.
