Actress Anne Heche, 53, is unlikely to survive after the severe Aug. 5 car accident that left her in a coma, a rep says. “Unfortunately, due to the accident, Anne suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in a critical condition.”
Now, the actress is being kept on life support to see if any of her organs can be donated, as it was Heche’s choice to be a donor. “She is unlikely to survive,” the actress’ rep continues in a statement sent to People.
“We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses who cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital.”
On Thursday night, sources with the Los Angeles Police Department told TMZ that the actress’ blood test results showed that she was under the influence of cocaine and fentanyl when she suffered the accident.
According to a statement, Heche is in an extremely critical condition, with burns all over his body, lung injuries and in a coma, breathing with the help of machines. The artist was driving at high speed in Los Angeles when she lost control and crashed into a house, causing a fire in the place.
Heche, who has a long career as an actress, is best known for the romantic comedy “Six Days, Seven Nights” (1998) and the disaster movie “Volcano: The Fury” (1997), as well as a long relationship with the presenter. Ellen DeGeneres, 64. She had several projects in the works.
