They forgot about me: Claudio Heinrich regrets not being asked to do a soap opera anymore

by

It’s been 26 years in his career since he starred in the second season of ‘Malhação’, but since 2014, TV work has been rare for Claudio Heinrich, 49. The actor hasn’t known what it’s like to make a soap opera for almost a decade, and says he has no idea what happened to be forgotten this way – his last appearance was in “The Deadly Sin” (Record), eight years ago.

“They didn’t call me anymore and I also stopped chasing. I should have looked for some casting producers, but I didn’t”, he admits. He remembers that in recent years he has made appearances in series, films and comedy shows and misses acting. But novel that is good… nothing. “I would like to go back to working in teledramaturgy, yes, because that’s what I like the most. I just don’t do it anymore because they don’t call me”, he says..

Claudio has just filmed a short film about the war in Ukraine -“War and Peace”, by director Alexandre Avancini-, and has been living off what he accumulated in the heyday of a young heartthrob at Globo. For a long time, he was the card champion on the network (the best rate of personal success in pre-internet and social media times) and made good money doing “VIP presence” and as prince of debutante balls across the country.

“I’ve been working since I was 15 and I’ve always saved enough to invest in various businesses. Today, I have my income”, says he, who started out as a paquito for Xuxa Meneghel in the late 1980s. study theater and invest in an acting career.

Unlike other former assistants of the blonde, he minimizes the reputation of tough and authoritarian Marlene Mattos, the former director of the program. “She needed to be firm for the machine to work”, he comments. Discreet, the now black belt and private jiu-jitsu teacher doesn’t see the point in stretching the conversation when it comes to the program’s backstage.

“I saw that some people talked about it, made books telling things behind the scenes. I think people like to promote themselves”, he criticizes. Half against her will, she confirms that she had a trelelê with the then paquita Leticia Spiller at the time they worked together on the Xuxa show. “Teenage dating”, he limits himself to saying.

Politics is already a subject that makes him uncomfortable, to the point of changing his intonation when talking, over the phone, with the F5. “I don’t take a stand, I prefer not to say anything about politics. The vote is secret and everyone has the right to take a stand or not. It’s a right in any democracy”, he concludes.
