Cousin of Camilla, wife of Prince Charles, found dead in hotel

Businessman Charles Villiers, cousin of Duchess Camilla, wife of Prince Charles, 73, was found dead in a hotel room in London, England. He was 59 years old and, in recent years, has made headlines in English newspapers due to the divorce proceedings from his ex-wife Emma Villiers.

According to The Times, the businessman was bankrupt and was living with friends. He would have spent the last few months on a friend’s yacht in Greece. The yacht’s owner sent Villiers to England, worried about his health, so he could be hospitalized.

The Duchess’s cousin was found dead in his hotel room by an employee responsible for cleaning the room. Now, authorities are investigating the hypothesis that the businessman committed suicide. Charles and Camilla’s offices did not respond to questions from the British press about the businessman’s death.

The case involving Villiers and his ex-wife had not yet been concluded when he died. The case had already gone through five courts and 20 judges since 2012, the year they parted ways. Divorce was problematic because of the businessman’s desire to have the case res judicata in Scotland, while Emma wanted res judicata in England.
