Lula in JN: Caetano cries and Janja celebrates performance; see other reactions

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s (PT) interview in Jornal Nacional (Globo) entered the most talked about topics on Twitter, yielding memes and comments from famous and anonymous people. Lula was the first of the four best-placed candidates for the Presidency of the Republic to be questioned by William Bonner and Renata Vasconcellos.

Caetano Veloso published a message on Twitter saying that he cried with emotion when he watched Lula’s interview. “More than when I voted for him in 2002. So much of our history! Rationally speaking, my candidate is Ciro. But Lula snatches. I’m a typical Brazilian. I vote for Lula,” he said.

Rosangela da Silva, Janja, Lula’s wife, mocked on the social network talking about her husband’s performance in the debate. “I suspect my husband won’t want to have dinner today. He’s already full,” she posted.

Presenter Leilane Neubarth, from Globonews, compared Lula with President Jair Bolsonaro in the treatment with presenter Renata Vasconcellos. “I could mention many differences, but Lula’s respect for Renata calls my attention. He keeps her present and participating in the interview all the time. A man who respects a woman is something else.”

Singer Anitta posted Lula’s number on Twitter: “”Treze te thirteen te thirteen thirteen”. Janja commented on the publication: “It’s Brazil happy again!”

Actor Bruno Gagliasso made several comments on the social network during Lula’s participation in the Sabbath, such as “let the man talk for another half hour”, “the father is too much”. He ended the posts by celebrating the candidate’s performance: “Bonner is already calling Lula president. And so am I.”
