Elvis meets the Beatles… on the Aretsous beach

On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 9 p.m., at the Aretsous beach, the Skelters band gives a concert entitled “When ELVIS met the BEATLES”, and promises 2.5 hours of dancing with songs by Vasilias and the top band, in the context of Para thin’alos 2022, the cultural institution of Kalamaria that is taking place for the 32nd year.

On Friday, September 2, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Kalamaria will give a concert in the outdoor area of ​​the Government. The 55 wind and percussion musicians of the Orchestra will breathe life into melodies and rhythms born from the interaction of the musical traditions of Europe and America, under the direction of Yiannis Koukas.

The “Tribute to 100 years since the Asia Minor Disaster” will take place on September 5 and 7, at 9 p.m., in the premises of the Government.

On 5/9 the Pontic Cultural Association of Kalamaria “The Mithrioi” in collaboration with the Greek Society for the Rescue and Dissemination of our Cultural Heritage “The Momogeroi”, present the music and dance performance “REMPETIKO … the cry of the refugees”.

The performance is accompanied by a multi-member band (with tzoura, baglama, oud, violin, santouri, tambourine, bouzouki, guitar, accordion, clarinet, percussion), in texts and presentation by Myrofora Efstathiadou, with the research, choreography and direction signed by Kostas Alexandridis.

On 7/9, the Kalemkeri Museum of the Municipality of Kalamaria presents the concert “The Forest of Oaths”, by the award-winning composer Giannos Aiolos, in which Quarto Quarter, the quartet of the Sofia Philharmonic, participates.

This year’s “Para thin’ alos” closes on Thursday, September 8 at 9 p.m., at Aretsous beach, with the “Tribute to Mikis Theodorakis”, almost a year after the death of the great composer, by the Greek Music Orchestra of the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamaria of KEDKA, under the direction of Lina Bakatsi.

Entry to all events is free.
