Valquíria Nascimento, mother and manager of MC Kevin, who died in May 2021 after falling from a building, took to social media to regret that her son’s voice and image are used by some DJs to create new projects and events. She dropped a note of dismissal.
“MC Kevin’s legal team would like to inform you that numerous audios containing his musical interpretations have been leaked and shared without any kind of authorization or licensing”, begins the note.
“For this reason, we would like to emphasize that the circulation, sharing and distribution of any unauthorized content that contains, in
in whole or in part, the voice and/or image of MC Kevin, under penalty of violation of his copyright and his personality rights”, amends the statement.
Many fans were sad on Valquíria’s social network, because, for them, these projects that appear would be tributes to the singer. In a video, the manager gave more details of the positioning and also confirmed that the team should release new songs from Kevin soon.
“I’m not a bad, evil person. But it’s not possible for everyone who has Kevin’s voice to release his music. We’re going to do work and release music [nova] Kevin’s when it’s all sorted out. It’s very annoying to be doing work and a DJ comes and does something”, he reinforced. Minutes later, one of the DJs who used the funkeiro’s voice apologized to her.
