Bruce Willis’ wife after diagnosis of the actor with aphasia posted an edited video on Instagram showing how she spent this year’s, different, summer.

“This has been a summer of self-discovery – finding new hobbies, stepping out of my comfort zone and staying active,” Emma captioned the post, which showed snippets of her daily life.

“Sadness can paralyze me, but I’m learning how to live with it”, Emma continued in the caption. “As my stepdaughter @scoutlaruewillis told me, grief is the deepest and purest form of love. I hope you find some comfort in that.” Emma made the post to mark National Grief Awareness Day, which is August 30 in the US.

Emma’s post comes months after the Willis family revealed Bruce was retiring from acting, a move Emma described as “a really difficult time for our family” in an Instagram announcement at the time.
