A special evening, where the melody, the rhythm and the notes of excellent Greek jazz musicians who followed harmonious paths of improvisation, were experienced on Saturday, September 3 by the visitors of “11th Jazz in the Park” in the Municipality of Ilio.
Important artists such as NUKeLEUS (Sami Amiris, Pericles Trivolis, Yiannis Stavropoulos), Special guest Gilad Atzmon, Alexandros Affolter trio (Pantelis Benetatos, Giorgos Roulos, Seraphim Bellos), Dimitris Papadopoulos Quartet (Dimitris Papadopoulos, Michalis Tsiftsis, Grigoris Theodoridis, Yiannis Papadoulis)excited the hundreds of jazz fans who flooded the venue, ideally complementing the enchanting setting of Pyrgos Vasilissis (Serpieri estate).
The Mayor of Ilio mentioned the great cultural institution, which has been closed for 11 years and has free entry for the public Nikos Zenetos, who emphasized: “Jazz in the Park” is one of the largest Jazz Festivals in the country and at the same time a field for expressing many different emotions. I want to especially thank the artistic director of the Festival, Giorgos Trantalidis, a historical figure of Greek jazz, all those who contribute over time to the successful organization, and especially Mr. Ioannis Serpieris, who again this year graciously provided the space for his hospitality”.
