In a new interview with Men’s Health magazine, Efron described the preparation he underwent to gain muscle for the film, noting that it included taking diuretics and excessive training.
THE Zac Efron reveals that she “fell into a really bad depression” while training for the 2017 film “Baywatch.”
The 34-year-old actor starred alongside him Dwayne Johnson in the comedy – based on the original 1989 series of the same name about a group of lifeguards tasked with saving the future of their area from criminals.
In a new interview with Men’s Health magazine, Efron described the preparation he underwent to gain muscle for the film, noting that it included taking diuretics and excessive training.
“That ‘Baywatch’ look, I don’t know if it’s really possible to maintain. There is simply very little water in the skin. It’s like fake, it looks CGI (computer generated image) admitted the actor.
“I’d much rather have an extra, you know, 2-3% body fat,” he added.
While making it clear he doesn’t want to be heard complaining, Zac Efron said he wants to let those interested in getting the “Baywatch body” know about the devastating effects the workout has had on his health.
“I started having insomnia,” he explained. “And I fell into a very severe depression, for a long time. Something from this experience exhausted me,” he stressed. “I just didn’t feel alive,” he noted.
