A single sentence on a social network caused sports commentator Ana Thais, from Globo, to be cancelled. That’s because she spoke ill of Coldplay, the band that was the sensation of Rock in Rio until now.
“Shocked that people actually like Coldplay in 2022. I thought it was a meme,” the journalist wrote. However, this was the trigger for a barrage of criticism to begin.
“Man, I’m boring, but Ana Thais goes beyond all limits. Any sign of happiness she is against”, wrote a follower. “It’s official: Ana Thais Matos is the most boring person in the world”, posted another.
In response to followers, Ana questioned the criticism. “The person offends someone and when their offense is questioned, other people think the questioning is wrong. Hey, let the person keep offending you there, hey,” she wrote.
Starring the friendly Chris Martin, the show’s script married old hits with songs from the band’s latest album, “Music of the Spheres”, with which Coldplay tried to get closer to the new generations, in partnerships with Selena Gomez and the group. BTS
An example of Coldplay’s melodic, progressive pop, the sequence “Adventure of a Lifetime,” “Paradise” (with Martin on piano) and “Charlie Brown,” sung at the top of his lungs by the audience, was a portrait of the night — a great open air karaoke, with everyone singing in the rain.
