Solange Almeida and Xand Avião make peace and sing after court battle

by

It seems that the friendship between singers Xand Avião and Solange Almeida was rekindled. In videos that circulate on the internet, both hug and make up at Gkay’s Farofa event. They also sang together again.

The hug took the local public to delirium and on the internet there were also many people who supported the moment.

This comes after years of legal battle between both sides. In 2019, the singer sued her former band, Aviões do Forró. Solange was no longer one of the partners and vocalist in February 2017 and was seeking her rights in court for an estimated amount of R$5 million.

“I wanted to say that this action is true. Out of respect for the story I had lived with the band, I didn’t want to be the victim of the situation and somehow I didn’t want to create discomfort, so I accepted everything that was proposed.” she began, at the time, on video.

“On my departure from Aviões, I called the partners and said that I would no longer be in the band and that I would give them two years for that [se programarem]. Then they told me in 2016 that they would end Aviões on September 1, 2017,” he said.

However, according to Solange, things started to change with the announcement of the departure, in 2017. “I just kept to myself. Soon after, I was invited by Fantástico to rate and they [sócios da banda] they just didn’t. They put me in my room in Piauí and asked me to make a video together with Xand [atual vocalista] and I did. And then I took the entire blame that I was the ungrateful one, the bastard, that I wanted more money”, he revealed.

On the other hand, months after the report, a musician from the group decided to ask for a much higher amount in return. Isaías CD, as he is known in the music business, went to court saying that the singer had a debt of more than R$17 million to Aviões.

The two processes took place at the 3rd Civil Court in Fortaleza. The debt, according to the arguments of Isaías, would be the result of a chain of losses that increased with the sudden departure of the singer from the band.

The singer would have left the band after realizing that the country’s market would have room for another singer, given the success of Marília Mendonça, Maiara and Maraisa and other names. According to Isaías, the band even increased Solange’s quotas to keep her in the group longer.

With the singer’s departure, the musician claimed in the process that the concert schedule had been reduced from 26 to 16 performances per month, which would cause such damage.

Amid lawsuits between Solange and her former colleagues, the band Aviões do Forró was investigated by the Federal Public Ministry of Ceará for alleged crimes of money laundering —due to concealment of assets— and tax evasion.

The inquiry, in 2019, was under wraps and had the Federal Attorney Rômulo Moreira Conrado in charge of the case. The MPF of Ceará confirmed the information to sheet, but did not reveal details of the investigation. The case has been in progress since 2013, when an anonymous complaint emerged reporting the crimes that would have been committed by the band in the Public Ministry.

According to the Penal Code, a crime against the tax order provides for two to five years’ imprisonment and a fine.
