Ane Heche’s ex-husband and son fight over control of the actress’ assets

The eldest son of actress Anne Heche, Homer Laffoon, 20, and her ex-husband, actor James Tupper, 57, are fighting in court for control of the actress’ assets. She died at age 53 on August 12, days after falling into a coma from a serious car accident.

Documents obtained by People show that the actress’ eldest son, with Coley Laffon, filed a petition in late August alleging that Heche had no will before her death and asking to be legally the executor of the estate.

On Thursday (15), the ex-husband and father of the actress’s teenage son filed a lawsuit alleging that she had a will and named him executor of her estate more than a decade ago. When contacted by the magazine, Tupper’s lawyers did not respond.

Tupper – who was Heche’s partner from 2007 to 2018 – claims the actress sent him and two other people a copy of her will of January 25, 2011. Mr. James Tupper to be used to raise my children and then given to the children,” the document reads.

The actress’ ex-husband further alleges that Homer is “not suited” to manage his mother’s estate because he is too young and unemployed. According to the suit, Heche and Homer were estranged at the time of his death “due to him dropping out of college and not working to support himself”.

Tupper also accuses Homer of changing the locks on the actress’ apartment on the day of her death, preventing her son Atlas, 13, from visiting and retrieving her belongings. “[Homer] has refused Atlas entry since then and has not responded to his request for her clothes and computer in the house [de Heche]”, as reported by the actor in the request sent to the

Heche’s ex-husband also expressed concern over Homer’s claim that the actress’ house is vacant. According to him, Heche’s house was filled with furniture, jewelry, valuables, files and records, and her removal was not authorized in any way.

To make matters worse, Atlas and Laffoon have not spoken since the day Heche died, which Tupper cites as evidence that “Homer will not act in his brother’s best interests”.
