Singer and presenter Nick Cannon, 41, announced crying the death of his son Zen, 5 months, on his TV show, this Tuesday (7). The child had hydrocephalus and a brain tumor.
Cannon explained that he took his son to the doctor when he was just two months old. According to the presenter, the baby had a cough, had an interesting breathing and a big head.
“We didn’t think anything about it, but I really wanted to take him to the doctor to take a breath and check his sinuses. We thought it would be a routine process,” Cannon said.
The presenter said the baby underwent surgery to have an implant to drain fluid into the brain. Cannon said Zen took a turn for the worse on Nov. 25 and he moved back to Los Angeles to be with his son and wife, model Alyssa Scott.
“This weekend I made a worthwhile effort to spend as much quality time as I could with Zen. We woke up on Sunday and [fomos] to the ocean. So I had to fly back to New York for the show,” Cannon said, breaking down in tears. “When I got in the car and went to the airport, I had to turn around.”
The presenter said crying that he held his son for the last time on Sunday. According to him, working soon after his son’s death serves as a distraction. “You can’t heal until you feel it.”

Cannon is also the father of twins Moroccan and Monroe,10, with ex-wife Mariah Carey; Golven, 4, and Powerful, 1, with h Brittany Bell and the Zion and Zillion, 5, with Abby De La Rosa.
