The news comes just days after award-winning British singer Sam Fender announced he was also canceling a number of upcoming shows to take care of his mental health
Mercury and Brit Award-winning British singer-songwriter Arlo Parks has canceled a string of concerts, saying her mental health has “deteriorated to a debilitating level”.
Parks announced in a statement on her social media accounts that she has decided to cancel some of her US tour dates and return to London for a period of rest and recovery.
The news comes just days after fellow award-winning British singer Sam Fender announced he was also canceling a number of upcoming shows to take care of his mental health as he feels overworked.
Parks debuted her EP, ‘Super Sad Generation’, in April 2019. Last year was the year for the 22-year-old singer, as she released her debut album ‘Collapsed in Sunbeams’ and scooped major Music Awards.
Addressing her fans, Parks wrote in a message: “I’ve been on the road, in the country and off for the last 18 months, filling every spare second in between and working all the time. People around me started to worry, but I was afraid of disappointing my fans and myself. I pushed myself further and harder than I should have.”
Announcing the cancellation of several upcoming concerts, she added: “I don’t make decisions like this lightly, but I’m devastated and I really need to get off the tour, go home and take care of myself.”
