Actress Rachel Zegler, 21, decided to tell one of the most “scary” moments she has ever lived. Through her Instagram Stories, she revealed to followers that when she was 19 years old, she found out that she might have breast cancer as she had a breast tumor.
Zegler, who will play the lead role in the new live-action film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (2024, Disney), shared a black and white photo showing a scar on her breast covered in bandages. “Two years ago I found a lump in my breast and went through what was without a doubt the scariest week of my life.”
“I was fortunate enough to have the care of my pediatrician, who prescribed me an ultrasound – which led to an outpatient biopsy procedure. Fortunately, it was benign,” he wrote in the publication. “Now the scar serves as a reminder to check my breasts regularly for any irregular growth.”
Zegler said the fibroadenoma of her left breast is common to find, but that doesn’t make it any less scary. Finally, she encouraged followers to be mindful of breast cancer health and prevention. “Early detection saves lives! Check your ‘breast meat,'” she added.
