She appears lost in her thoughts, unable to express what is really on her mind. The truth, however, is that this new movie “Causeway” an unseen side of America’s female soldiers. A point of view that we should definitely discuss more often.

In ‘Causeway’ Jennifer Lawrence is Lynsey

Lynsey is an engineer who was stationed at the military bases in Afghanistan. There, as we learn, she suffered a very serious injury to her skull after an explosion. After this incident, she herself returns to America and tries to find her footing again. But what she lived there and the images she saw in the war, certainly do not let her calm down.

Her recovery is further complicated by Lynsey’s relationship with her mother. In her quest to escape her own mind and the PTSD that drags her into dark places, she forms an unexpected, friendly relationship with a local man, James. James, however, has his own demons and old wounds to deal with. In a way, he too tries to suppress the past and the memories he has of it through the loving relationship he has developed with Lynsey.
