“Viva la feta”: Belgian travel production “deifies” Sifnos – Watch video

The show will be broadcast in the winter on the popular channel ‘Play7’, in a prime time zone, when the 2023 bookings start

They were completed a few days ago at Sifnos the multi-day filming of the 2nd cycle of Belgium’s major television travel production “Viva la feta!” with the support of the Municipality of Sifnos and the EOT Office of the Netherlands. The show will be broadcast in the winter by the popular channel ‘Play7’, in a prime time zone, at the time when bookings start in 2023. The presenters will be the duo Jani Kazaltzis and Otto-Jan Ham who have a great appeal with the Belgian audience, due to of their participation in shows and broadcasts.

The first season, also filmed in Sifnos, was very successful with ratings ranging from 14.9% to 20.1% and was completed in 8 episodes, reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers! Sifnos and Greece were presented through the experiences and stories of recognizable figures in Belgian society such as actors, famous influencers, popular athletes and doctors who lived on the island entertaining trials of the TV show.

As part of this year’s filming, which lasted almost a month, the presenters cooked at the 14th “Nikolaos Tselemendes” Cycladic Gastronomy Festival, which attracted hundreds of visitors from September 22 to 24, 2022 and was a meeting point for delegations from Cycladic islands, many regions of Greece and foreign countries of Europe, America, Asia and Africa. “Gastronomy, culture and special forms of tourism such as hiking and cycling are at the heart of our efforts to extend the season, attracting tourists with special interests”, points out the Mayor of the island, Maria Nadali.

In this spirit, Sifnos has recently been featured in a tribute by the leading German cycling tourism magazine, “Bike & Travel”. The seven-page tribute, which came about after a journalistic trip by the Municipality, describes Sifnos as the “Aegean dream” that combines cycling, hiking, history trips, pottery and gastronomy, while inviting German travelers to enjoy the island at the beginning of its season.
