An extensive tribute to Paros presented by the electronic French tourism magazine Tourmag.com which refers to the places that should be visited by anyone who arrives on the island. “The island of Paros – he writes – attracts many tourists every year eager for adventure, beaches and sun. It is, indeed, one of the most visited of the Cyclades.”

Referring to the most beautiful locations “not to be missed” he writes: “The third largest island of the Cyclades, Paros, is of particular interest to lovers of travel and discovery as well as diving in the open sea and stands out for its historical heritage which dating back many millennia, its Mediterranean climate and its cultural heritage. Add to these its beaches with blue waters and its informal villages. The visit is essential!”.

And he adds: “In fact, this Greek island has everything to seduce its visitors. There you will discover all the wonders of Aegean Greece. Between the white houses, the crystal waters or the beautiful beaches, the island of Paros can surprise you during your stay. Dubbed the “multifaceted island”, it seizes the opportunity to offer tourists a wide range of activities. The most important remain the nautical activities which include windsurfing, kitesurfing and wakeboarding.

Diving and snorkeling enthusiasts can practice their favorite activities here. This is also the best way to discover the treasures of the seabed of the Cyclades. Most of the beach resorts in Paros are real favorites for vacationers looking for an underwater getaway. Having said that, they will have the privilege to, for example, explore the wreck of Arado, explore the underwater cave of Makronisi islet or visit the eye of Poseidon.

For more thrills, canoeing and sea kayaking are also among the must-see activities on the island. To do this, all you have to do is rent a boat in a port or ask for the services of tours. During your stay, you can also indulge in windsurfing.’

The magazine then recommends that visitors stay more than a day in Paros and describes locations such as Paros Park and villages such as Piso Livadi, Prodomos, Marpissa and Marmara which, it says, “you can explore with the family, friends or by yourself.”

Finally, special mention is made of the island’s beaches. “The most curious – he writes – can go to Kolymbithres to admire its beach decorated with large rocks. This is one of the most beautiful beaches of Paros. One of the most visited is called the golden beach. This beach is one of the unforgettable ones during your stay in this pearl of the Aegean. As its name suggests, it is a beach of fine golden sand made up of glass elements. These grains take full advantage of the sunburn to shine. It is a unique and excellent place on the island to admire the sunset in a different way. In addition to the Golden Coast, the small cove nestled in the port of Naoussa has a seaside resort dotted with small white houses. This beautiful charming beach has some sand, but its rather discreet side allows it to be among the most beautiful beaches of Paros.

Another long beach with white sand is also worth a visit near the center of Parikia. This is called Livadia and is ideal for snorkelling because of its crystal clear waters. A visit to the seaside town of Aliki can also set the tone during a Paros getaway. This beach promises its visitors a relaxing atmosphere away from mass tourism. So they can bathe quietly in turquoise and calm waters, all surrounded by pebbles as far as the eye can see. Located at the foot of the hills, this retreat offers an invitation to relaxation and meditation. To the north of the island is Monastiri beach. It is especially suitable for party lovers. Unlike other beaches, there are bars that offer quite a lively atmosphere.”
