‘Miracle’, says Jarbas Homem de Mello about Claudia Raia’s pregnancy

End of 2021. Claudia Raia, 55, and her husband, actor Jarbas Homem de Mello, 53, entered a clinic to try to generate a child by insemination. The onslaught didn’t work out, and the couple, who had been planning a baby for ten years, began talking about the possibility of joining an adoption queue.

The actress, however, became pregnant naturally, something hitherto unimaginable, as she had entered menopause in 2019. Would Luca’s pregnancy be a miracle? “I think so. There’s certainly the Divine’s hand in it”, evaluates Jarbas in conversation with the F5🇧🇷

The actor considers that other factors, these on a more rational level, also contributed to the woman’s pregnancy “In addition to having been blessed, there is also the fact that Claudia has never used hormones and has a healthy lifestyle”, points out the actor. , who recalls that the wife’s mother also got pregnant during menopause.

Claudia Raia had frozen eggs at the age of 48, but Jarbas claims that their relationship did not depend on it. “We were open to any possibility,” he says. He reveals that he was already researching on international websites about the procedures for joining a surrogacy.

For Jarbas, Claudia’s pregnancy at the age of 55 should not serve as hope for other women 50+, as it is something rare and depends on a series of variants. But she can, yes, encourage other people in that age group not to give up on making plans. “Not necessarily about kids, but about a new relationship, a new job.”

Father for the first time, the actor says that he has been exercising fatherhood “trying to keep Claudia at home, because she wants to go out everywhere”. Both intend to stay the first half of 2023 more inmates so that the total priority is Luca, due to be born in March. Starting in August, they want to resume projects, make musicals and come back in full force.

Speaking of the future, Jarbas gets emotional when he tells what he hopes for Luca’s future and how they intend to raise him. “We are going to guide this man to the path of goodness, to create for the world, so that he is not sexist, respects diversity and women.
