The singer will perform at the Doha Golf Club in Qatar on December 8
Robbie Williams defended his decision to appear at the World Cup in Qatar, claiming it would be hypocritical not to go.
His comments come after the star’s confirmation Dua Lipa, Rod Stewart and Shakira that they will boycott tomorrow’s opening ceremony of the event.
The famous singer has been criticized for appearing at the World Cup despite Qatar’s international condemnation of human rights, including the criminalization of homosexuality and its links to Islamic extremism.
EXCLUSIVE. Robbie Williams: “It would be hypocritical of me not to go” to #Qatar

The former Take That member argued that it would be wrong not to perform due to human rights concerns, as he has already performed in countries with troubled regimes.
Williams, in an interview with the Italian newspaper “Il Venerdì di Repubblica”, said: “Of course, I do not tolerate any violation of human rights anywhere. But, having said that, if we don’t condone the abuse of human rights anywhere, then it would be the shortest tour the world has ever known: I couldn’t even appear in my own kitchen.”
The singer will perform at the Doha Golf Club in Qatar on December 8. Amnesty International has called on Williams to use his concert to publicly address the allegations against Qatar.
