Billy Porter wins Emmy Award for Best Actor for his role as Pray Tell in FX’s ‘Pose’
The actor, singer, director and writer Billy Porter will be honored with a star at Avenue of Glory in Hollywood on December 1.
“We are thrilled to honor award-winning actor Billy Porter with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His performances leave everyone wanting more,” said the media relations manager for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which manages the Walk of Fame.
Billy Porter won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Pray Tell on FX’s “Pose.” Porter played Behold Chambly in the eighth season of American Horror Story, narrated the HBO miniseries Equal, and appeared in Amazon Prime’s remake of “Cinderella” and the second season of Jordan Peele’s remake of “Twilight Zone.”
A seasoned stage actor, Billy Porter won the 2013 Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Tony Awards for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in Kinky Boots. Porter also won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album.
He has also released the singles ‘Stranger Things’, ‘Love Yourself’, ‘Finally Ready’ with the Shapeshifters and ‘For What It’s Worth’, a song encouraging voter turnout.
