A famous place, as it is a common stop for sea turtles, while Varnalis referred to it as the “propylaea” of Agistrio

The islet of Metopi is located in the Saronic gulf, southwest of the port of Aegina and northeast of the cape Agios Georgios of Agistri and geologically it is the top of the former isthmus that connected Aegina with Agistri and suffered subsidence.

A famous place, as it is a common stop for sea turtles, while Varnalis referred to it as the “propylaia” of Agistrio. Easily accessible by boat, with a small beach of white sand and turquoise shallow waters on its south-east side and a few vineyards making up the island’s only greenery. A winepress, a hut and the chapel of Agios Theodoros are all his heritage…

It is a low islet approximately one nautical mile long with particularly dangerous shoals around it and while it may have been in the movie “Aegean SOS” a rocky islet in international territorial waters that came to the surface after an earthquake in the area, with Greeks and Turks equally claiming it , but in reality there are hundreds of its owners, who cannot come to an agreement among themselves about the property-fillet, worth several million euros, which they inherited from their ancestors.
