In an interview with the Chicago Tribune in 2012, the actor claimed that he doesn’t wash his hair and that his hairstyle was the result of years and years of accumulated residue from not washing it. In the same post, as if that wasn’t enough, he said that he doesn’t clean his apartment. Apparently, the next day he was in the news for his statements.
However, apart from the little lies in the interviews, it seems that he did the same in castings. Robert Pattinson’s accent worried the producers because every day was different: “He always arrived as a different person, as an American. It was like, ‘Hello, I’m from Michigan,'” people who worked with the actor said.
In fact, the actor even went so far as to lie to Christopher Nolan, but Nolan caught him in the act. It was for the role of Batman. The audition for the movie “Batman” coincided with the shooting of “Tenet” and he told him that he had a family need.
“I had to do everything for ‘Batman’ in secret, so I had to lie to Nolan when I went to the audition. I told him I had a family emergency. And, as soon as I said, ‘It’s a family emergency,’ he said, ‘You’re going to cast Batman, right?'” Pattinson explained.
One of his most infamous lies was when in 2012, in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, he told him that he was homeless and living on the streets.
“I have rented a bridge and live behind it. It’s in one of those garbage cans,” the actor had said.
Finally, an incident with a female fan of his who harassed him outside his hotel in 2009 went viral. Pattinson claimed that he invited his female fan to dinner and at dinner she got so bored that she never waited on him again hotel.
