Kanye West must pay R$ 1 million a month in child support after divorce from Kim

Socialite Kim Kardashian, 42, and rapper Kanye West, 45, finalized their divorce on Tuesday (29). The also businesswoman had entered the process of separating the singer, also known as Ye, in February 2021.

According to documents obtained by People magazine, the former couple chose to have shared custody of their four children, North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3. In addition, Kanye will have to pay $ 200,000 (about BRL 1 million) per month in alimony.

He will also be responsible for half of the children’s medical, educational and security expenses. The couple’s assets, such as property, will be divided based on the prenuptial agreement established by the two.

Kanye and Kim got married in the year 2014 and since then, they have become one of the most well-known celebrity couples in Hollywood. The socialite filed for divorce in 2021 after controversy from Kanye, who initially decided to oppose the separation.

After the recent controversies, the rapper ran the risk of losing custody of his four children with the businesswoman. The musician even made anti-Semitic lines and even showed explicit photos of his ex-wife to his employees while they were married.

According to the newspaper The Sun, another aggravating factor, in addition to the public controversy, would have been the fact that he did not appear in court, at a hearing scheduled for November 16, to give testimony in the divorce process.
