“I feel really, really proud of what we’ve created,” said the model and actress

Cara Delevingne revealed that she once considered ending her life after struggling with her sexuality during her youth.

In the BBC documentary “Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne”the model and actress, who has previously spoken about her pansexual identity, explains how she struggled to understand her gender as a teenager.

“I couldn’t talk to anyone about it,” she recalls of her teenage years during the documentary. “I felt ashamed. I thought I was abnormal.”

Speaking specifically about the making of the documentary series, which premiered in the UK on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer on Thursday 1 December, Delevingne said: “It has changed my life in a big way. Now I am happier than ever.

I’m really proud of what we’ve created. I know I shouldn’t feel ashamed, but I truly believe there are souls like me all over the world. I think this “opened” me as a person, to be ready for this.”

The 30-year-old expressed her hopes that the TV series will raise awareness about the reality of gender identity confusion and help others going through similar difficulties.

She added: “In the world I live in, most of my friends are straight. I had never been to Pride before doing this series. Now I have a lot more queer friends. If we can change someone’s mind so that they are more willing to accept themselves or someone else, that’s all I want.”

THE Cara Delevingne in an earlier interview with the “Times” she talked about the support she had from her sisters: “My sisters did everything they could to be by my side, but it was something I had to go through myself to really find out who I was. I’m still on this journey and will continue to be for the rest of my life.”
