Dressed in black from head to toe, Giovanna Antonelli appeared on the scene five minutes after the scheduled start of the lecture “The 6 steps to success”, this Monday (12), on YouTube. Aimed at women, advertised on social media and with registrations via email, the free class on how to succeed in life attracted around 7,000 people.
They were interested in hearing the marketing and entrepreneurship tips from the actress who promised, beating her chest: “With me you will earn a lot of money, I will change your life”.
Antonelli’s appearance on screen was immediately celebrated with heart and rocket emojis by followers, and she tried to make it clear right away, in case anyone had any doubts, why she has the morale to become a coach in areas that go far beyond acting.
Giovanna is a soap opera star, influencer with 33 million followers, and owner of an aesthetics clinic with more than 300 stores across Brazil (invoicing in 2022 is close to R$ 250 million). She is indeed a successful woman. But, smart, she didn’t pickpocket or brag gratuitously about her accomplishments. The image she wanted to convey -and seems to have succeeded- was that of a hard worker.
With colloquial vocabulary (“Several ‘cheap’ executives take productivity training,” she said, at one point), she spoke to her audience as equals, like someone chatting with friends over an after-work beer. Not that she hasn’t trained for it.
One of the six steps to success that she set out to teach is precisely the need to speak to the public with knowledge of the facts, authority and assurance, as she did there. “Warren Buffet [bilionário americano, considerado um dos maiores investidores de todos os tempos] there’s only one diploma on the wall: that of an oratory course. If he values communication, who am I not to find it extremely important? Dude, it’s Warren Buffet!”
Another tip of the most important in your booklet concerns the clothes of those who are looking for professional success. “It’s no use speaking well if you don’t dress the right way”, she assures, already explaining the reason for being all in black, with light makeup and few accessories. “I wanted to stay sober, discreet, avoid drawing attention to anything other than what I’m talking about, you understand?”
Being productive (“What’s so different from being busy”) is also a hot topic, but no subject excites her more than self-marketing. “How I love it! It’s one of the subjects I study the most,” she says. She asks them to take a notebook and write down a sentence: “Personal marketing is power”. She pauses. “Write it down! Write it down!”
Enter the classic example of virtually identical products, with prices that can vary by more than a thousand percent. “Why is that?” she asks. “A pair of jeans. Why does one cost ten times more than the other? It’s the power of the brand, understand? I learned how to transform my name into a successful brand and I’m going to teach you to do the same”.
Details of his resume were peppered, unhurriedly, interspersed with stories from his life, marketing concepts and even the old fable of the deaf frog who couldn’t climb to the top of a tree because he couldn’t hear the screams and cheers of the other animals to to give up.
“We have to be the deaf frog, people”. Ready. He opened the door so that those who were watching the presentation could speak and, as if in a collective outbreak, a shower of phrases “I AM O SAPO SURDO” began to appear written on the chat screen, those little letters going up non-stop.
Another subject discussed was the importance of mastering social networks, “which are veritable machines for printing money”, which she says she has noticed for some time. The course was coming to an end, and Antonelli then recalled all the tips, one by one. “I know a lot of what I’ve said here seems obvious, but I doubt you’ve heard anyone talk about it with as much substance.”
Following the basic precepts of marketing, the free class was actually an appetizer. That sample to attract attention and attract the purchase of a product – in this case, a combo of online classes with experts from each of the aforementioned areas (“All hot and powerful, the best in each area”, Giovanna highlighted). She was responsible for monitoring personal marketing.
“I don’t even know how to price my hour,” he said. “But I want to help! You can be sure that 2023 will be the best year of your life. Write it down: 2023 will be the best year of my life”. The rain of letters on the screen started again: “2023 is going to be the best year of my life… 2023 is going to be the best year of my life…”.
