Simaria Mendes explains outside in João Gomes: ‘I could be his mother’

by

Simaria Mendes responded during a show this Saturday (18), in São Paulo, the reason why he did not accept the advances of singer João Gomes. “I’m going to be 40 next year. João is 19. I could be his mother,” explained the singer, who is partnered with sister Simone, in a video posted on the entertainment Center of Fame Instagram.

Simaria’s argument came after the singer told during participation in The Noite (SBT) this Wednesday (15), that he had courted the artist without success. “I spent the whole night flirting, asking her to dance, for later she [Simaria] say thus: ‘ah my son, I see you as a boy’. Then I gave up,” he said, laughing, after praising the singer.

Born in Serrita, Pernambuco, João Fernando Gomes Valério has become an internet phenomenon with hits by the piseiro that make up the album “Eu Tem a senha”. Currently, the singer has more than nine million followers on Instagram and six million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Simaria, on the other hand, announced in August the end of her marriage to Vicente Escrig, to whom she had been married for 14 years and has two children, Giovanna, 9, and Pawel, 5. “It was a decision well thought out, very clearly. We had beautiful moments together, two wonderful children, who are our greatest riches,” she said at the time. “I intend, from now on, to be even happier, even without the man I once loved so much.”
