The ongoing changes at HBO Max have affected the production of new shows and as George RR admits. Martin’s own works were not unaffected either.

In a post on his personal blog the author Game of Thrones wrote that some of the planned series from the world of “Game of Thrones” have been “shelved” by HBO.

After HBO’s parent company, WarnerMedia, merged with Discovery in April, HBO Max content was cut back to cut costs, canceling series like “Love Life,” “Minx” and “FBoy Island.”

Although the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel, “House of the Dragon”was a hit and was renewed for a Season 2, Martin wrote that other projects are still on hold.

“Some of them are moving faster than others, as is always the case with development. None have been given the green light yet, although hopefully… maybe soon. A couple are left on the shelf, but I won’t agree that they are dead. Something can come off the shelf as easily as it is placed on it. All the changes to HBO Max have affected us, for sure,” Martin wrote.
