Actor Ícaro Silva, 34, caused controversy by saying that he will not be one of the participants of the 22nd edition of Big Brother Brasil (Globo), considering the reality a “mediocre entertainment”. The artist had been pointed out as one of the possible names to integrate the group of famous people in the program.
“Guys, respect my history, my trajectory, my hatred for mediocre entertainment and my disgust for sharing a bathroom. Stop believing this absurd story that I would consider going to Big Boster Brasil”, he wrote on his Twitter.
Famous and anonymous criticized the artist for his positioning. Some internet users recalled a publication in which Icaro celebrated when the physician Thelma Assis won the BBB 20. “When was it to gain engagement, the BBB served, right?”, commented one internet user.
Ex-BBB Flayslane, 27, who participated in the 20th edition of the attraction, also countered the artist. In a comment made to a post on the Rainha Matos Instagram profile, she asked: “Does the boy think he is so superior to the show as to belittle him like that?”
“Call it shit? Do you like it when someone thinks and calls his work shit? In exchange for what, right, I think. This show is an audience leader, it supports so many families, it continues to grow and is the biggest in the country for a long time, in addition to changing the lives of those who pass there as honestly as their work (I suppose), I don’t know,” continued the influencer.
In the same publication, actor João Vicente de Castro, 38, also disapproved of Ícaro’s speech. “I don’t understand, shouldn’t we ‘respect history’ or the ‘trajectory’ of colleagues who participated in the BBB? Were ex-bbbs morally less people than us?”, he asked.
“Should we respect each other more than others? In a country with an absolutely scrapped culture and giant unemployment, everyone who is taking advantage of opportunities has my utmost respect. In fact, as far as I understood, liking is optional, respect is mandatory”, he added the artist.
Flay also commented that, because Icarus is an artist, he should know that the medium of entertainment has many ups and downs, and that he should have “humility and down to earth”. “Arrogant, arrogant, disrespectful, I even liked his role, but now I think it sucks. Anyone who wants respect, respects”, she added, talking about the artist’s performance in “Secret Truths 2” (Globo).
Anonymous also spoke out. “You’re saying that you were received on the basis of hate, but your comment was very characteristic of the hate dynamic that circulates on Twitter: full of arrogance and wanting to diminish something or someone (in this case, everyone who went through the BBB) in order to feel intellectually superior. Pay attention,” wrote a netizen.
A few hours after the comment, the artist tweeted again, in which he was surprised at the repercussions. “Guys, I’m really excited that my first mass Twitter interaction is on the basis of hate. The sewer is overflowing. of morgue. Amorzão,” he said.
But Ícaro’s comment was once again the target of criticism on social media. “Really, there are still people who need to belittle something or someone to feel intellectually superior? That’s what I call sewage overflowing! Improve!”, said a netizen. “BBB actually has more plot and relevance than the works you’ve been in on television, like ‘Secret Truths 2’, for example,” said another. Ícaro deleted the tweet in which he criticized the reality show.
