Renatinho, lead singer of the band Bokaloka, suffered a heart attack at the beginning of a concert by the group at Bar do Zeca, in Barra da Tijuca, west of Rio, on the night of this Wednesday (4). He felt sick on top of the stage and had to be rescued by the house’s regulars. The artist ended up being sent to the Lourenço Jorge Municipal Hospital, in the west zone of Rio, where he had his first appointment.
O F5 contacted the Municipal Health Department, which reported that the singer underwent several tests and was transferred to the National Institute of Cardiology in the middle of the afternoon of Thursday (5), due to the seriousness of his health. He will need to undergo further surgery.
The band’s manager, Claudio Malagueta, who is in Paris, France, confirmed the heart attack and said that he would be trying to transfer Renatinho to a private hospital, but the doctors advised against it. As he explained to columnist Fábia Oliveira, the specialists said that the patient’s condition was delicate.
In May, the band Bokaloka toured Europe and Renatinho fell ill. He had a blood pressure spike and a heart attack. At the time, the vocalist underwent two procedures: one to clear the aorta, which was 90% compromised, and another to place a “stent” — a kind of tube that serves to restore normal blood flow in the coronary artery.
Five months ago, the singer said in an interview with Brito Podcast that he had already suffered a heart attack in 2014.
