Prince Harry borrows Tom Hardy’s suit from the movie for a night out without being noticed
Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, youngest son of King Charles III and his first wife, Diana, Princess of Wales, has revealed how he borrowed actor Tom Hardy’s Mad Max costume for a secret Halloween night out.
In his published memoir Spare, Prince Harry details his last night out with his then-girlfriend, now-wife Meghan Markle, before their affair was leaked to the press.
The couple, who were in Toronto at the time, had celebrated with a small group of close friends at Soho House at an apocalypse-themed Halloween party.
Harry, who had called a friend to help with the going-out suit, writes in the memoir: “For help with my suit, I turned to a friend, the actor Tom Hardy, before I left home. I called him to ask if I could borrow his movie costume from the movie Mad Max.
The actor asked him if he wanted all the gear and Prince Harry said yes.
When Prince Harry later tried on the suit, which Hardy wore in 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road, in front of Meghan, she “burst out laughing”.
“It was funny. And a little scary. But the main thing was that “I was unrecognizable,” says the book.
“Meg, meanwhile, wore ripped black shorts, a camouflage top, fishnet tights. “If this is the apocalypse, bring on the end of the world,” I thought” notes Prince Harry in the book, who describes that no one looked at him at the party and that he wished he could be in disguise every day.
The next day, the story of their relationship hit the press and “everything changed forever,” the book says.
