All netizens understood that Shakira took a swipe at her ex Gerard Pique and his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, in the lyrics of her latest song.

The Colombian singer has teamed up with producer Bizarrap on a brand new track, Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions 53, which was released in Spanish on Wednesday, January 11.

Recall that Shakira and Gerard announced their separation after 11 years together, in June, while some time later Gerard was spotted kissing his new girlfriend, Clara, in addition to the fact that he had promised the singer that his relationship would remain hidden.

The singer clarified that she was referring to the 23-year-old who her ex-partner was rumored to have started dating last year before they split, saying: ‘I’m worth two 22s’, adding: ‘You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio.”

She herself “burned” her ex-partner, also saying: “Many gyms. But work your brain a little.”

Shakira makes another reference to Clara with the lyrics: “She’s got the name of a good man. Apparently it’s not what it sounds like.

“Clearly” in English translates as “Claramente” in Spanish, clearly referring to Clara.

Finally, Shakira, who is facing a £12m tax evasion trial in Spain, sings: “You left my mother-in-law for a neighbour, with the press at my door and a debt to the taxman.”
